Killing The Fossil Fuel Industry; Why It Must Happen Now

For close to the last 200 years countries around the world have developed large businesses and Industries around the production and extraction of natural fossil fuels. Now this is a trillion dollar industry that, as it would seem, makes the world go round, but that does not help reduce the risks, problems and issues with these companies and the process by which they harvest these fuels.

Since the 1980s we have known that the process of drilling for oil is harmful, no matter which environment it is happening in. In the Arctic the rigs used to drill, and the buildings set up for management are harming the natural ecosystem, and every drop of spilled oil is reabsorbed into the tundra, making it a dangerous place for people and animals alike. In the Gulf Of Mexico oil spills are more likely, and are very dangerous to fix. They often continue leaking for years before researchers realize what is happening, and even then the problem takes time to fix. In the Middle East huge conflicts between countries have broken out over the natural fuels found there, tearing apart the worlds of millions. The extraction and use of these fuels only help to aid the process of global warming, further reducing the place that the drilling can even take place in.

In many places, particularly Alaska and Northern Canada, areas of land being sold to fossil fuel companies are not the sellers' lands to sell. The land that is being sold to drilling companies belong to the indiginous first nation people of the area, and are sacred lands. These lands belong to the native tribes, not the corporations, stolen land is not yours to keep.

The Fossil Fuel Industry must end, the effects of the extraction of the materials as well as the effect of just using the fuels is to great, they have encroached on the rights of the indigunous people for too long, and they will help bring about further global warming. This industry must be brought to an end before it destroys us.
