The Deal With the Supreme Court

During the enlightenment theories and ideas were made of how to create the perfect society, men and women would talk for hours about morals and philosophy paving the way to modern society.

When the men of the American Revolution began to draft constitutions on how to govern these newly freed states they kept these ideals in mind.

They honored Rousseau's natural rights, Voltaire’s freedom of expression and but most importantly Montesquieu's separation of powers.

Now some 200 years later we have disregarded and disrespected the ideals of our forefathers.

Judge Amy Coney Barrett was sworn into office last night, only hours after the senate completed its vote.

The democrats, after not one had voted for the decision of Judge Barrett's addition to the Supreme Court were not present to witness the historic event, and no last presidents were called to continue tradition.

After the swearing in Judge Barrett and President Trump stood on the white house balcony, waving to a huge mob of republican supporters.

Our Supreme Court is now controlled by a six to three majority of conservatives who allow their faith to get in the way of there duties to keep our rights protected despite other laws clearly telling us about the separation of church and state.

Judge Barret’s clear siding with the republicans on most of the issues brought to the Supreme Court signifies the end of the Judiciary branch functioning independently as it should.

It would seem our executive and judicial branches are now working against the good of there people- for lack of a better word, working against us.
